Week THIRTY

how many weeks: 30 weeks + 4 days

how big is baby X2: Baby A: A little more than 3 pounds Baby B: Same. We didn't get exact measurements this week... again.  They weigh about the size of a bunch of asparagus each.

weight gain: around 43 lbs .... A lot!  It's all for the babies.

sleep: Pretty good the first part of the week.  Hospital bed now... can't wait to sleep back in my own bed in a few weeks.

craving:  home cooked meals. :) shakes, slurpees, you know ANYTHING with sugar.

feeling:  good.  Taking it one day at a time.  Today is day #5 in the hospital.  Just thankful baby boys are healthy and growing.  I want to keep them in for as long as possible!

Appointments this week:  Saw the specialist Friday, cervix is still stable and the Vasa Previa is still there.  We had a little mix up Wednesday when a nurse from radiology did an ultrasound and couldn't find that blood vessel... she didn't think it was there but, I knew better than to get my hopes up.. but was hoping it was gone?!?! wishful thinking.  I guess as the babies and everything else grows its harder and harder to see.  We will continue to see the specialist every week to monitor and changes.

gender: Sweet baby boys

best moment of the week: having so many people rally around me.  We have had so many great meals, visitors, texts, calls, etc.  My ward threw me a shower Thursday night and because I couldn't physically be there we got to face time which was so much fun.

worst moment of the week:  Started having contractions Tuesday afternoon.  We were up in Logan visiting Heaths parents.  They were pretty intense and 14 minutes apart.  We headed down to Ogden just to make sure everything was okay.  We arrived at the hospital, got hooked up to monitors and the nurse said that the doctor wanted us to stay overnight.  Heath told me to mentally prepare to just have him tell us  the next morning that we were going to stay since the plan was that I would be admitted Friday anyway.
HE WAS RIGHT.  I guess we just couldn't wait to start our hospital stay.

looking forward to: taking a shower and getting dressed for the day. (The babies are currently being monitored.  This happens 2xs per day for an hour each.)  Its hard to hold still for so long and not getting up to use the bathroom.  Pregnant girl problems.

random thoughts:

-Heath goes back to work Tuesday... dreading those 7 days on

-It's all about perspective

-One day at a time

Week Twenty Nine

how many weeks: 29 weeks

how big is baby X2: Baby A: Around 3 pounds Baby B: Around 3 pounds. We didn't get exact measurements this week.

weight gain: around 43 lbs .... A lot!  It's all for the babies.

sleep: Okay this week.  A lot of weird/scary dreams about delivery + some insomnia.

craving:  Nothing pops into my head that I've been craving this week.  My insides are so squished I feel like I eat the smallest amount of something and I'm stuffed.  Smaller meals do the trick though!

feeling: Pretty good.  Getting antsy for Friday.

Appointments this week:  We saw the specialist and our OB both on the same day this week.  I got the clear from the Maternal Fetal Medicine doctor that I didn't need to be admitted to the hospital for one more week if I got the okay from my OB.  Fluids around each baby looked great, we even got the cutest profile picture of I think Baby B?! :)  It's so hard keeping them straight.  Off to the OB I went next, Dr. Ball said that he would call and talk to the OB and tell him what was going on.  (This is the first time I had seen my OB since being diagnosed with Vasa Previa).  Dr. Davis laid it all out for us and basically said the babies have about the size of a can of pop of blood and if that vessel ruptures by contractions/ cervix dilating/ water breaking it can go from dangerous to fatal fast.  HE said how important it is that I be at the hospital with a wrist band, IV, gown, etc in case we need to get these babies out ASAP.  He said he wanted to do a cervical exam and check everything out that way and that would determine if my hospital stay would start that very day or if I had another week.  After the exam its clear my cervix is considered short and soft.  Not the two things you want to hear.  He said he didn't know if he felt totally comfortable sending me home, but that next week for sure they call it quits and I am no longer seen as an outpatient.  I was relieved!!! Heath and I celebrated having one more week at home by going to dinner at Maddox.

gender: Sweet baby boys

best moment of the week: A few great moments this week:  1- Babies have been moving like crazy this week!  One of them had hiccups and I loved feeling that! 2- Saturday my mom came over and cleaned/scrubbed my entire house top to bottom.  It was so thoughtful and much needed.  We had our last lunch date for awhile after.  3- I had a family shower on Saturday and got spoiled.  4- heaths work had a shower and gave us piggy banks full of money.  It was so sweet.  He works with such great people! 5- NOT HAVING TO GO TO THE HOSPITAL!!!

worst moment of the week:  No worsts this week.  Its been a G O O D week.

looking forward to:  Getting though this last work week.  Trying to enjoy it while it lasts though.  Friday I will get to be checked in to my new home for the next few weeks.  I can't believe its almost time to meet our baby boys!  I am getting so excited to see them!

random thoughts:

-Three more days of work

-Last days at home, next time I come home I will be a mommy of TWO.

Until next week.....

Week 28

how far along: 28 weeks

 how big is baby X2: Baby A: 2 lbs 14 ounces, Baby B: 2 lbs 7 ounces

weight gain: around 30 lbs .... A lot!  It's all for the babies.

sleep: Pretty good, I have been EXHAUSTED this week and can't seem to get enough sleep

craving:  Slurpees! Which is so weird! I usually don't like slurpees at all.

feeling: good.  I'm still at home this week and not in the hospital which is great news!  My appointment went good this week.  Things are stable, babies are both looking great.

gender: Sweet baby boys

best moment of the week: Having my first baby shower!  It was so surreal!  I can't believe I am actually having TWO BABIES!  I don't think that it has sunk in quite yet.  One of my best friends since 7th Grade hosted the shower and it was so cute!  I feel so blessed to be surrounded by so many amazing moms + friends!

worst moment of the week:  went to bed New years eve with the worst stomach ache that I could not get rid of.  Heath had to work early the next morning so I tried to get some sleep.  I couldn't sleep and got up every hour until 4:30 a.m. to go to the bathroom.  Finally I woke Heath up when I started throwing up and we headed to Labor and Delivery to get checked out and make sure everything was okay.  I spent most of the day at the hospital, but was later released after I got the okay from the Doctor.

looking forward to:  Family shower this week, 2 more appts ( 1 OB, 1 Specialist), getting a prenatal massage... TWO WHOLE HOURS may I add.. (thanks to me sister and mother in law. :) ), a mommy daughter date to SLC with my momma.  Busy week!

random thoughts:

-Still taking zofran every other day, only throwing up about 1x per week

-Nursery is coming together! Still need a few things, but my friend Amy was awesome and helped me get things hung on the wall.  Still need crib bedding, curtains, etc.

-Trying to start finding things that I can do during my lengthy hospital stay, any suggestions please share!!!

-Christmas tree is going down today and I am quite sad about it....

- Works is starting to get harder and harder.  My goal is to make it through two more weeks.

Week 27

how far along: 27 weeks

how big is baby X2: 10+ inches long and 2.3 pounds each (around this)

weight gain: the same .... A lot!  It's all for the babies.

sleep: Last night was rough ( back + hip pain) it is  currently 7:00 am and I have already been awake for almost 2 hours but, the 2 nights before were heavenly and I slept great!

craving: not having much of an appetite this week,  I have been wanting nesquik chocolate milk and laffy taffys (watermelon flavor)

feeling: So blessed to have healthy babies so far.  We got diagnosed with Vasa Previa this last week which can be very dangerous for the babies if it isn't caught, but It will be a challenge that we will be able to face even if I do get to spent some weeks in the hospital, it will be better to be there in case something happens.  Its amazing how your body can grown little humans inside your belly.  My friend from high school just delivered twin girls at 28 weeks and seeing pictures of her babies brought me to tears... i have 2 of those almost the same size growing inside me!

gender: Sweet baby boys

best moment of the week: Spending Christmas with my husband and family!  I love this time of year!  My mom and I got to spend the day after Christmas together in Logan shopping for nursery/baby stuff, it was such a fun day!

looking forward to:  FIRST baby shower Saturday!!  Specialist appointment Tuesday.

random thoughts:

-Still taking zofran every other day, only throwing up about 1x per week

-Nursery is coming together! This has been so fun, we found the perfect changing table this week.  Pictures to come.

TWenTy SiX

how far along: 26 Weeks

how big is baby X2:  Babies are weighing in at a little over 2 lbs and smaller baby is almost 2 lbs.

weight gain: A LOT! I asked me doctor this week how much weight should be gained for twins and he said they don't have a set range and to not worry.  I have gained around 30 lbs so far... Yikes!

sleep: pretty dang good last night!  Babies are moving the most at night which is so fun to feel.

craving: Soda (cherry Pepsi) treats of any kind!

feeling: pretty good, besides the pain in the right side of my lower back, almost brings me to tears every night.  It is the weirdest thing and feels like a knife is being pushed in.

gender: boys. I can't wait to meet them!

best moment of the week: Not only feeling the babies move, but being able to see it from just watching my belly + date night with the hubby!  Mandarin and going to see the nativity at the bountiful temple + getting their first Christmas presents from my mom.  She was so excited she couldn't help but let me open them early.  Two cute outfits!

missing: Being able to move comfortably. :)

looking forward to: Monday!  Another appointment with the specialist.  Christmas on THURSDAY (4 days away!)

random thoughts:

- I have loved reading books about preparing for babies.  Baby wise and the parenting breakthrough are two of my favorites.

- I'm certain that my husband can't wait to have his "wife" back, pregnancy has been a lot harder than either of us have imagined.  I am so grateful for him and his patience with me.  He takes such good care of me!

Week TWENTY FIVE

Week 25

How far along: 25 weeks

How big is baby X2: Baby A is a little over 2lbs, Baby B is almost 2 lbs

Weight Gain: hahaha, who knows?!? (It's best to not look at the scale)

Sleep: Getting a good nights sleep is becoming harder and harder.  Last night before bed I was having the worst pain in the right side of my back, I was almost in tears.  Heath was able to rub my back with Icy Hot and it helped a lot.  A body pillow is my saving grace since I love to sleep on my back, but with pregnancy it is recommended to sleep on your side.  HARDEST THING TO DO. :)

Cravings:  Lately I have been craving a few different things... Swedish fish (colored), Cherry Pepsi or Coke ( I have never been a "normal" pop drinker, mostly a diet coke drinker, I don't want the diet I want the real stuff, and any fruity candy!

Feeling: I am feeling tired!  I am working 4 days a week and its becoming more and more difficult.  This last week I had a patient tell me that he was getting free kicks!  Cleaning teeth is hard to do with a big giant belly, but I am feeling grateful that I am still able to work.  Bed rest would be really hard for me... I'm such a busy body!  My goal is to work through the end of January.

Gender(s): BOYS!!!  SO excited to meet my little guys!

Best Moment of the Week: We had an appointment with the specialist this week and it was so fun to see how much they babies had grown.  When she first started the ultrasound Baby A or B (not quite sure which one) had his mouth open and it was the cutest thing!  We also have a baby that is not bashful at all and loves to remind us each ultrasound that he is indeed a BOY! :)  My sister Jill got to join us at our appointment too which was special.

Missing: Having more energy, exercising more regularly and of course sleeping!

Looking forward to: Christmas! The hubby got Christmas day off this year!  Best Christmas present ever.... AND finishing the nursery.

Random Thoughts:  Next week is my glucose test... considering my cravings... I don't know how this is going to turn out... wish me luck?!?

-Feeling the babies move is THE best thing!!

-Candice and Erin got to feel the babies move last night after dinner ( that's when they are the most active)

-Still trying to fathom having TWO babies! How did we get so blessed?!?

Weight gain:  Again, not keeping track.

Sleep: Been okay this week, still taking Zofran about every other day to help with nausea and vomiting.  Had a rough day Monday.  Woke up at 5 am throwing up.. tried to go back to bed and sleep it off until l I needed to get up for work, but threw up again.

Craving: Wendy's fries and frosty.... YUMMMMM

Feeling:  Pretty good.  Starting to get more uncomfortable.  Babies hit a growth spurt this week.

Gender: Boys

best moment of the week:  Some great friends went in and bought our babies car seats!  We got to meet them for dinner and It was such a great night!  My friend Ashlee and her husband Mark walked in with 2 car seats and I was so confused!  It still is so hard to wrap my head around that I will need them BOTH!
